Social Distance Art Window Walk
The Harrison Center (1505 N Delaware Street Indianapolis) is sad to announce they are unable to invite guests into their building for First Friday. So they’ve commissioned artists to install window displays before they headed home to shelter-in-place.
Next time you are out exercising or walking your dog, swing by the Harrison Center to see the window displays and celebrate the tradition of First Friday in a different way! They are sure to put a smile on your face.
Walk, bike, or even drive by, and check out the displays. The installation is open day and night, though the lights are spectacular at night.
(If you choose to walk by, please follow all social distance guidelines, remain at least 6 feet apart, and don’t touch the glass please!)

Virtual Story Time on the Reservoir
Join the Indy Parks and Recreation department for Virtual Story Time on the Reservoir – The Big Block of Chocolate, on Wednesday May 20 at 9:30 a.m.
The Big Block of Chocolate written by Janet Slater Redhead and illustrated by Christine Dale is not a typical story time book, but they thought it was a great story for some at home explorations. Join Indy Parks and Recreation virtually on Wednesday morning as they read the Story and introduce you to some activity ideas.
Some supplies you will need include:
1. A plate or something else that can go outside and not blow away while you observe it. Three or four food choices that you choose with your child. These are not foods that you will be eating, but to see if any insects are attracted to the foods. Some foods to think about include fruit, jelly, chips, carrot, bread, veggies, candy, etc.
2. Paper, stamp pad (preferably brown, black, or red), colored pencils or fine tip markers.
3. Two pieces of ice the same size and similar containers to put them in outside.
4. Another optional activity is to do a chocolate taste test as a family. Purchase some dark, milk, and white chocolate or a variety of brands and see which are your favorites at your house.
Check back on the events page for more printable activities!
